Nicole and her three children, ages 23, 17, and 8 are excited to build and move into their new Habitat home. After years of frustration with high rental costs for a four-bedroom home and large fluctuating electric bills, an energy-efficient habitat home offers the opportunity for stability and room to grow.
As a natural-born caregiver, Nicole moved to Wilmington in 2006 to care for her mother and father. She continued to care for both parents until their passing in 2016. This was a challenging year for Nicole, but she has a determined spirit and decided to continue her education at Miller-Motte College to become a Medical Office Assistant. As she continued to strive to set the best example for her children, she began the application process with Habitat that same year. However, with the changes in her life, she decided to wait for the right time. Nicole is more than ready now.
Today, Nicole is a Certified Nursing Assistant and works as a Habilitation Counselor for people with developmental disabilities. Her positive and bright personality has an impact on everyone she comes in contact with. Despite the challenges she has overcome, Nicole is excited for this new beginning.
