Our History
"What the lower income family needs is not charity but capital;   not caseworkers but co-workers; and what the rich need is a wise, honorable and just way of divesting themselves of their over abundance. Habitat for Humanity will meet both of these needs."

 International Habitat for Humanity History

Habitat for Humanity International was founded in 1976 and is headquartered in Americus, Georgia. There are 2,100 US affiliates in 92 countries, including all 50 states. Habitat for Humanity is the 19th largest housing industry in the world, having built over 200,000 homes and dedicating a house every 40 minutes around the world.

Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity History
