Habitat Homeowners Give Back

Check Presented to New Hanover County for Property Taxes

Last week, two Cape Fear Habitat homeowners (Damion Allison of Eaton Elementary and Pauline Miller of New Hanover Regional Medical Center), presented New Hanover County with a check for the total amount of money paid by Habitat Homeowners in property taxes, a whopping $109,422.95.  The following day, the same check was presented to the City of Wilmington, received by Mayor Saffo. Though Habitat gives its homeowners a hand up in buying a new home, it is not a hand out.  These homeowners pay monthly mortgages and property taxes, just like anyone else who owns a home.

We are so proud of our homeowners, and all of the hard work they have done to secure a safe and decent home for their families!
