þ There must be evidence of need (i.e. living in substandard housing, subsidized

        housing, overcrowded conditions, high crime area, etc.)

þ    Families must earn 25% to 60% below median income.

þ    Families must be willing to work 250 to 400 "sweat equity" hours helping to build

        Habitat houses.

þ    Families must attend training classes in preparation for homeownership.

þ    Families must have income to support a no-interest (0%) mortgage payment.

þ    Families must be residents of the County in which they are applying for at least

        one year prior to applying.

þ Families are approved by a volunteer Family Selection Committee and the Board of    

        Directors.
